GIANT CAKE: The "World's Tallest Cake" - at 15 1/2 feet tall - was constructed at the Humboldt County Fair in 1953.  It was baked by Ferndale baker Primo Marca and served to 10,500 visitors to the fair on Aug. 16, 1953. To bake the cake, Marca used 500 pounds of flour, 600 pounds of sugar and 3,000 eggs among other ingredients. (Photo contributed by Ferndale Museum)
